Learn how to use user status in conversations. This article will walk you through how to use user status effectively.
Setting your status
Accessing Your Profile:
- Log in to your Watermelon account.
- Navigate to your profile by clicking on your profile picture on the left bottom.
Selecting Your Status:
- In your profile, you will find a dropdown menu labeled "Status".
- You can select between two statuses:
- Online (default): Indicates you are available to chat with customers
- Busy: Use this option to signal that you cannot immediately respond to new messages. However, you will still receive messages and notifications.
Please Note: The "Offline" status is automatically assigned when you are not logged in to the platform and cannot be manually selected.
Viewing Other Users' Status
1. Users Filter:
- To view the status of other users, you can use the "Users Filter" in Conversations where users are displayed.
- Next to each user's name, you will see a small round icon indicating their status:
- Green: Online
- Yellow: Busy
- Red: Offline
2. Assigning Conversations:
- When assigning a conversation to another user, their status will be visible next to their name in the form of the same color-coded icons. This allows you to make informed decisions about whom to assign conversations based on their availability.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I change my status to "Offline"?
No, the "Offline" status is automatically applied when you log out or are not active on Watermelon. This status is not selectable.
How can I see if someone is available before assigning them a conversation?
You can see the user's status via the color-coded icons next to their names in the assignment menu. Green indicates they are online and likely available, while yellow suggests they are busy but might still be able to respond.
Will my status automatically change to "Busy" if I'm in a meeting or away from my desk?
Currently, the status needs to be manually set to "Busy." We recommend changing your status when you know you'll be unable to respond promptly.
