This article explains what to do if you encounter an error message while linking WhatsApp in 360Dialog
When you encounter an error message while linking WhatsApp, it can be frustrating. Below, you'll find the error messages we are aware of and their solutions.
Error message: Sharing API Key permissions not allowed.
Reason: The WhatsApp number is already in use with 360.
Solution: Request a partner migration through 360 by following the steps in this article.
The partner ID for Watermelon is NqTEl9PA.
Then, email support@watermelon.ai so that we can approve the migration.
Note: We do not receive an automatic notification about this. For a quick resolution, it is essential to contact us directly.
Error message: Number was not set up correctly.
(Possible) reason: The WhatsApp number is still linked to the WhatsApp Business App. This prevents the number from being registered on the WhatsApp Business API.
Solution: To resolve this issue, we kindly ask you to first remove the number from the WhatsApp Business App. Once the number has been successfully removed, you can proceed with registering it as a new number on the WhatsApp Business API (via Watermelon).
After that, you can link WhatsApp.
Error: Failed to get WhatsApp commerce settings
(Possible) reason: The integration has not been created for this number, which is why this error appears. Most likely, an incorrect flow was followed (for example, a migration instead of adding the number as new).
Solution:
360Dialog needs to remove the number from the system. To do this, please contact support@watermelon.ai, so our support team can submit this request to 360Dialog. You will receive a notification once this has been completed. After that, you can onboard the number again. Follow the steps in this Help Center article and pay attention to the following steps:
- Log in to your 360Dialog account or create a new account.
- Select “No” for both options, as the number is not registered with WhatsApp.
- Click on “Start Embedded Sign-up” and complete the registration process on Meta’s side.
- Verify the number – a code will be sent to the phone you are registering to confirm it.
- Complete the registration on the 360Dialog side. A window will appear stating that the number is being registered. Do not close this window – it will close automatically once the number has been successfully registered.
