Compliance with GDPR

Watermelon and OpenAI are fully compliance to GDPR guidelines.

In the data processing agreement that Watermelon has signed with OpenAI, it is clearly stated that OpenAI complies with European GDPR regulations. This information can be found in the third paragraph of the agreement on this page.

Additionally, the sub-processing agreement between OpenAI and Watermelon specifies that both parties are obligated to comply with the GDPR.

Data Sharing with OpenAI

To enable our chatbots to effectively answer your questions, we share a limited set of data with OpenAI. This data includes:

  • The end user's question
  • The prompt
  • Information from scrapers
  • Domain knowledge

This data is sent to OpenAI and stored for a maximum period of 30 days. After this period, the data is permanently deleted from their servers. It is important to note that OpenAI does not have access to the servers where this data is stored, and this data is not used to train their AI models. This ensures the privacy and security of your data.
