Do you want to enrich your chatbot's knowledge with up-to-date information from the web? This article will guide you through the process of setting up and using the AI Search feature effectively to do so.
AI Search allows your chatbot to search the internet for answers or search a specific website. This ensures that your chatbot can provide accurate and relevant information without the need for manual updates.
Enabling AI Search
By default, AI Search is turned off. To turn it on:
- Log in to your Watermelon account.
- Navigate to Pulse.
- Open the chatbot where you want to enable AI Search.
- Navigate to Sources.
- Open AI Search and enable AI Search by clicking the toggle or clicking 'Enable AI Search'.
Selecting what you want to search
You can choose whether you want to search the whole internet or a selected URL.
If you prefer your chatbot to search a specific website:
- Select 'Selected URL'.
- Enter the URL you want the chatbot to search . If the URL is not the main domain, it will be automatically formatted to the main domain. It's not possible to search a specific page.
- Click 'Add URL'.
Managing your URLs
To manage the URLs your chatbot can search:
- Go to 'AI Search' and see the added URL.
- Select the URL you want to delete and click 'Delete' or use the 'bin' at the right of the added URL to delete a URL.
Technical details
- We use the Google Search API to power AI Search.
- The chatbot will do a Google search on the question of the customer, the first result that comes out of this will be used, and the webpage will be scraped. This information is then formatted to an answer for the customer.
- Total search time is capped at 7500 milliseconds to ensure quick responses.
- The system checks whether data can be retrieved from each URL.
