Coming up with a good conversation and implementing it in the Watermelon dashboard is easy, but it is important to keep some points in mind. Therefore in this article we will give you some tips & tricks!

Coming up with a good conversation and implementing it in the Watermelon dashboard is easy, but it is important to keep the following points in mind:

  • Think about what the conversation could be about in advance and write it out well. For example, we recommend using draw.io or Miro.com to write out all conversations in the form of paths. This makes building your Chatbot flows very easy.

  • Make sure the conversations are not too long. If you unexpectedly have to make a small change, the whole conversation tree will have to be broken down to the actual change.
  • Create an intermediate conversation so you don't give the visitor the same experience as how he came in. In this in-between conversation, instead of welcoming the visitor back, ask him if he can be helped with something else. This conversation has the same topics as the main menu, but with a different beginning.
  • Use multiple text boxes for long texts. This keeps it readable for visitors.
  • Use bold texts alternately to draw attention to important words.
  • Don't add new knowledge when training your chatbot. Training often gets stuck! Grab a nice cup of coffee or go have a chat with your colleague.
