Clear your cache

When you visit a website, a copy of the page will be saved in the browser's cache. The cache includes images and other files that the browser can use to serve the page more quickly the next time you visit it. 

When Watermelon makes an update, not clearing the cache can lead to your browser lading outdated information. When you clear your browser's cache, this loads up the latest version of web pages and browser-based software.

Macintosh


Safari
  1. Click on “Safari” and choose “Preferences...”.
  2. Choose “Advanced”
  3. Select “Show Developer menu in navigation bar”. 
  4. Choose “Develop” on the navigation bar “Empty caches”.
  5. Restart Safari.
Chrome
  1. Select “Chrome’
  2. Select “Clear browsing data
  3. Select the boxes of the types of information you want to delete. Choose "Delete the cache" in order to delete the cache. 
  4. Use the top menu to decide how much data you want to delete. 
  5. Select "the beginning of time".
  6. Click “Clear browsing data”.
  7. Restart Chrome.
Firefox
  1. Click on “History” in the navigation bar. 
  2. Click “Delete recent history...”.
  3. Select in the pop-up window “buffer” (that's what Firefox calls the cache).
  4. Select a time period to determine how much data you want to delete.
  5. Select “Everything” to delete everything.
  6. Select “Delete now” to clear the cache.
  7. Restart Firefox.

Microsoft


Safari
  1. Click on Settings on the top-right of the navigation bar. 
  2. Select “Set up Safari ”. A new window will open. 
  3. Select everything you want to delete. To delete the cache, you should choose “Delete all web data”.
  4. Click on “Reset again” to delete the cache.
Chrome
  1. Click on the picture of the wrench in the navigation bar.
  2. Select “Extra”.
  3. Select “Delete browser data”.
  4. Select all the types of information you want to delete.
  5. Select a time period to determine how much data you want to delete.
  6. Select "the beginning of time" to delete everything. 
  7. Click “Clear browsing data”.
Firefox
  1. Click on the Firefox logo to open the menu. 
  2. Select “History” then “Recent history”.
  3. Select “buffer” in the pop-up window (that's what Firefox calls the cache)
  4. Select a time period to determine how much data you want to delete.
  5. Select “Everything” om alles te verwijderen.
  6. Click “Delete now” to clear the cache.
Internet Explorer
  1. Click "Extra" on the Internet Explorer navigation bar.
  2. Click “Internet Options”.
  3. Click the "General" tab.
  4. Click “Delete” next to “Temporary internet files”
  5. If needed, repeat these steps followed by restarting your computer.
